UNITY

my heart beats crazy for you,
   not in little blips
and when we meet,
   we shall lock lips
make love sans abandon,
   gyrate our hips
we’re still meant for each other,
   not two passing ships

Journey

it was a magical and wondrous time for me
i had just spent six years abroad, living in the r.p.*
and was returning home, back to the land of the free

imagine my shock: everything and all that i could see
working in harmony. no this wasn’t a 3rd world country
i had no money save for a few buck from mommy
and stayed with tita amy, her classmate from u.e.**

off i went, pounding pavement, in the heart of the city
in search of a job that also offered a place rent free
as luck would have it, i found one that suited me to a t
and so was employed by the broadmoor, home to retirees

there i met gayle, my future girlfriend and co-employee
what an incredible find, she’s all heart and mind,
                          i am so lucky

sadly though, i had to leave but it was more like to flee
i wanted more and felt new york was where i had to be

to make a long story short, i never made it to the east
i’ve no regrets, whatsoever, even giddier with glee
i’m coming home once more, this time for sure,
                       here’s to my new journey

MENAGE A TROIS

why can’t i be your boyfriend
    and he be your mate

this way you get a choice
what to put on your plate

one day it’s him for
    company abrainy

another it’s me
    and have fun with insany

or, if you can handle
    something risque

let’s be a threesome
    what’s standing in our way?

JURISPRUDENCE

should i be writing you
   thoughts of this sort

when you have a loved one,
   you have a consort

perhaps its best i cease these
   it best to abort

you’re not some prize
   some kind of sport

there must be some law
   written in a tort

that it is okay
for you and i to cavort

for we are soul mates
   which defies all court

SYNCHRONOUS

My journey is your journey
    that there is no doubt

Seems like yesterday I thought otherwise
perhaps when you called me a lout

But now I know better; this epiphany
makes me want to rise and shout

Just like those types from San Fran
who from the closet have chosen to come out

This love I feel that will never know an end,
do we share with others or do we flout?

It matters not whether the path we take
is cracked, clear in need of some grout

I know you’ll help me when I sometimes stumble,
for every once in a while I get gout

This journey is a union, a trek heading
the same way: we’re simply taking different routes

TEAMWORK

When we worked together on a plan, we felt magic
Now we live apart, everything falls, looking quite tragic

How do we get back on track, move on ahead?
Do we live together once more and share a bed?

Maybe there’s something we can do without the physicality
Work together once again in matters of practicality

What you need first is a place of your own
So the skills that you need can be sharpened, can be honed

Worry about me not, my precious one
All that matters is love and thy will be done

I want you and Bastet back in each other’s arms
Where you’ll be safe together, free from any harm

Enough of this kindness from those of this realm
Say the word, I’ll roll up my sleeves, take over the helm

Even though you have now taken on a mate
What matters most is love, none too early, none too late

MASTERY

one day it will all make sense
you will hit those high notes

and you will be as one with it all
    drift away and merrily float

keep at it my dear child
    practice with all your heart

for perfection is what it makes
it is worth it, it is art

OVERHAUL

we’ve had our dose of reality, you and i
so let’s try the fantasy, try the pie in the sky

what have we to lose, we’ve hardened our hearts
let’s soften it now, better yet replace the parts

from now on a diet very rich in love
it takes getting used to, so lets give it a shove

exercise it with a regimen of tenderness
though the strongest muscle, it also needs to destress

last but not least, here’s the best way to medicate
say a prayer, make a wish, better yet meditate

thoughts that swirl in our mind have the most impact
if they are poor it’s like an oft repeated soundtrack

but if you practice enough, work at it you’ll see
what is now fantasy will one day turn to reality

REDUX

i don’t want to be taken aback
even the edge or the brink

whether by needle, pill or
even by one too many a drink

all i have with me is but my mind
   with which to think

thoughts that can rise above all,
   thoughts that can likewise sink

what runs through my head, though
is you, someone i want to link

happy that you highly regard me,
of the words i’ve thus far inked

ravished you say by my poetry
   i’m glad you’re tickled pink

let’s explore our love once more,
this time not a passing wink

it’s here to say, now and forever,
like a body that takes in zinc

and if we should ever find fault once again,
   let’s workout the kink

we can erase the stain of the past,
   likewise too the stink

love is boundless with all she offers
   overcomes any chink

we’ll meet again one day my love
the world our playground, our rink

ESCAPADE

it is inevitable, there will come a day
when all you want to do is simply get away
don’t be a stranger, come and visit the bay
romp around your old haunts, play, play, play
hang around with your friends, share your day
mi casa, su casa, you know where to stay
don’t worry about the cost, i’ll pay your way
